It's the third day since school reopened.
Although it doesn't really feel like, 'a long time not coming back to school' and 'dreading coming to school', since d&t students like us, band members or other cca members still have to come back to school, not regularly, but almost occasionally. But still, school's on and graduating classes are like, nearing the doom days. It's quite distressing to realise how near the 'O' lvl is, and how often teachers are constantly reminding us on the importance to start revising when it's still not too late, and to be serious. Dead serious.
First day of school was a shocker( or rather a disappointment, in my view) to know that Mrs Tai would be taking over as our POA teacher to guide us for revision. I'd rather depend on Ms Chew's notes for that. Not that I'm bias to Ms Chew, but based on the feedback on students of classes she taught, she'd already gave me an impression that she's not able to let students love POA, or at least obtain maximum passes.
Okay just so as to not jump to conclusions, the day of observation begins. (of the teacher la) We tried to adapt to her teaching and explaination methods. (We in this case is just termed generally) But in my case, or maybe for the whole class's case, Mrs Tai's just not, er. Let's put it this way. Effective? Efficient? I can't find the right word to describe it. Maybe the feeling's just not right. As Mr Teo had said, it's hard for us to get used to a teacher in such a short period of time before the 'O' levels for revision, when Ms Chew, whom we have got used and perhaps taken for granted, who have been teaching us POA for the past 1 and a half years, simply made it hard to accept at this point of time. Thus I'm envious of 4E4 having got Mr Tham as replacement for Ms Chew lol.
To add to that discomfort and adjustments 4E6 (and other classes) have to go through, Mr Bambang has taken over Ms Tan's position as our Social Studies teacher. Yes Mr Bambang may be an awesome teacher that has been teaching us History(some) and now he's going to be our combined humanities teacher(s) till the 'O' lvls. But the absence of Ms Tan still signifies a place in our 1.5years of interaction, reprimands and praises in class. That cute and bubbly teacher we'd always known is not here to guide us anymore. It's really heartwrenching, but we can do nothing but accept the fact.
One last thing. The sudden change in Mother Tongue classes(for batches of classes) to different classes and teachers was carried out this morning. Maybe it created a hoo-ha, but it didn't last for long as all settled in their mt classes. I don't think this applied to the Malay classes though, as this was due to the departure of a Chinese teacher to another school. MT classes amendments was not a big deal whatsoever though, since the main MT papers have been sat for, except for the orals which would be coming up very soon, some are even sitting for them tmr!
This post can be treated as a tribute to the very teachers who have taught us and are appreciated and missed greatly. As for now we don't really have time to brood over these matters or even making time to regret what we could have or should not have done.
This marathon is still ongoing, we must and can do this, for the sake of our future, or gratitude to our teachers who've left the school, or simply doing well before deciding anything. Make no excuses and eliminate those procrastinations. Time is ticking, fast!
